Today, Michael Harding Oil Colours are a leader in the fine art supply industry. They use the highest pigment load and use only pure ingredients. Michael Harding Oil Colours offer the greatest possible coverage, with brilliant, vibrant and true Old Master colours. The consistency is creamy, buttery, easy to handle and to manipulate texture.

Artists know Michael Harding Artist Oil colours give their paintings the qualities that help make it stand out in a room full of paintings. With these oil colours, artists are guaranteed a handmade process that will never include artificial driers, extenders or fillers!

Michael Harding Oils deliver colour exactly where it is required on the canvas, thus enabling the artist to deliver the brush stroke exactly how and where required. The greater the pigment content of a paint the greater the resistance it has to fading, resulting in excellent lightfast ratings!

This is a professional line of oil paint formulated to the highest standards. These oils feature high pigment load and excellent mixing power. Colour intensities replicate those of handcrafted, limited edition oils produced prior to the invention of the collapsible tube in the 1840s.

The consistency is silky, not oily. This enables the artist to paint the thinnest layers or thick impasto brushstrokes with ease. All colours but one in the line are ground in a grade of refined cold pressed linseed oil that is chosen for its neutral acidity to ensure permanence. Titanium White No. 1 is ground in safflower oil.

Old Holland presents a range of 168 oil paints, each with the highest degree of lightfastness. Traditional, non-lightfast pigments have been replaced with modern lightfast pigments with the same colour characteristics as the traditional ones. Thanks to the highest possible concentration of pigment in each colour, the paint has an unprecedented colour strength.

Within the unique range of 168 colours, there is a wide range of opaque and transparent colours, each with the highest possible brilliance (intense) and clarity (clean) characteristics. The only medium used for these oil paints is cold-pressed extra virgin linseed oil, to obtain an optimum oxidisation (drying) of the paint. This increases durability and brushstroke spread. Together, these characteristics result in an oil paint of unequalled quality.

Langridge Handmade Oil Colour is a high performance professional artists grade oil paint handmade in Melbourne, constructed to excel in saturation of colour and handling qualities for unequalled performance. Developed in consultation with artists to satisfy demands for colours unadulterated by fillers or modifiers.

The resulting range of paints have the fullest chromatic strength with exceptional tinting power resulting in extremely clean colour-mixing. Built to reflect the intense colour and light of Australia they are the world’s first oil paint specifically based on contemporary colours of the 21st Century.

Sennelier professional artist quality oil paints are rich and heavy but never stiff. The colours are luminous, their feel is smooth and buttery.

The oil chosen for each individual paint is selected according to the specific properties of the colour’s pigments. This custom oil to pigment matching makes Sennelier oil paints resistant to fading and cracking. The evidence of this is in museums worldwide on the canvases of the impressionists, as well as, artists such as Chagall, Kandinsky, Modigliani and Yves Klein.
